Iwona Home Care INC is a small VETERAN owned and operated business where comfort of your home, future of next generations as well as EPA (cert# 000331550) regulations are taken very seriously.
* This rudimentary webpage is running on extremely low power machine. Build and maintained by the owners. Instead of on hiring IT company or hosting firm decision was made to create website ourselves and pass the savings back to CUSTOMERS. * IHC is EPA Section 608 UNIVERSAL certified (cert# 000331550). * Specializing in cost effective repairs instead of ridiculously priced HVAC equipment replacements. Keeping aging but very well build equipment is at the core of operations. Most homeowners step into new expensive equipment "investment" because they are informed by HVAC "EXPERT" that said replacement is unavoidable. Outrageous ENERGY savings at the core of every sales pitch are often exaggerated. In reality all we've done is created a market for yet another NEW Inferior in build materials unit/system. Most new components are build utilizing aluminium instead of copper (aluminium has half the heat conductivity of copper). Additional burden on future generations is placed! The "NEW & IMPROVED" while more efficient systems rarely live up to the hype and probability of it lasting long enough to "PAY FOR ITSELF" IS SLIM! Sadly sentiment "They don't build them like they used to" more than often rings true. * Build like a tank equipment should only be replaced as last resort. Average HVAC upgrade according to Forbes is 7-14K. Inflation going the way it is NEW systems are getting more expensive by the day. * ANNUAL energy savings of those NEW systems are $300-$600 (or 33 - 50 dollars per month) those numbers are incredibly GENEROUS - most Homeowners don't ever see savings in that range. Feel free to use this calculator to determine your "potential" energy savings. * Depending on unit size at that rate $10000/500 = 20 years to recover the cost of your investment. Manufacturers quality control varies but most cut costs by using aliminium, if copper is used it's forever thinner tubbing exposed to much higher pressures. Most Said systems are going to require maintenance many times before it gets to that 20y. * Example RETROFITTING old R22 refrigerant with EPA approved OZONE-SAFE refrigerant is performed to avoid costly equipment replacement and prolonging your "TANK's" life in many cases by DECADES. * Shall customer wish otherwise and lean toward new system their decisions are always respected! * Introduction of complex electronics does pose energy saving benefits but creates many more failure points due to complexity of controll borads and modules forever more reliant on microchips. ` Old school approach by a tech knowledgeable in SUBCOOL and SUPERHEAT calculations often might not be enough. Efficient & timely troubleshooting of problems is at the core of every repair. * Friendly, professional, and reliable HVAC repair, maintenance, replacement if truly needed or requested of residential customers throughout Baltimore Cecil and Harford counties. Iwona Home Care Inc can help keep your home comfortable year-round.

Q. A/C or HEAT don't work well. I just need a little charge!
A.NO! REFILLS! If you know charge is needed it only means you've done it before, that is the only way homeowner knows system is LEAKING. HFC's or HCFC's are equally potent chemicals, both in health hazards and environmental impacts. Willful release further deteriorates the environment and is ILLEGAL by itself with hefty fines and imprisonment. Refiling instead of properly diagnosing, locating the leak, repairing the root cause of the discharge and only then recharging the system. Doing so is not only responsible thing to do but most cost effective as well!
Q. My system works for a while then stops - Fan is running
A. Most common cause (one of many) in situation like this is low air flow causing freezing. When refrigerant drops below certain pressure corresponding temperature is below freezing causing existing indoor/outdoor moisture to accumulate and freeze in solid block of ice! sometimes something as simple as air filter replacement is a solution!
Q. What are the EPA regulations?
EPA Regulatin 40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act require Technicians who maintain, service, repair, or dispose of equipment that could release refrigerants into the atmosphere must be certified. Technicians are required to pass an EPA-approved test to earn Section 608 Technician Certification. The tests are specific to the type of equipment the technician seeks to work on. Tests must be administered by an EPA-approved certifying organization. Section 608 Technician Certification credentials do not expire.
